Open Water Swimming Courses in Devon: Find the Right Way In for You

Sea swimming lessons and courses in Devon

I’ve got my sea swim programme ready for 2026 – hurrah! Whether you’re dipping, building confidence, or ready to swim further and stronger, spending time in the sea can be one of the most happy-making things you can do.

I’ll add more as the season goes.

Anyway, start here:

New to Sea Swimming

If you’re at the very beginning, this is a good place to start.

Just a Little Sea Dip (or Swim) – A hour to give you the basics and to get you in the sea. A little support goes a long way. Friday 3 July 1-2pm

Just Getting Started Course – A small group, together we’ll learn the basics and get swimming. 3 x Tuesdays at 11-12noon starting 2 June.

Both of these are perfect if you’re unsure, a bit nervous, or just want to feel properly supported from the start.

Improvers

If you’re already getting in the sea and want to feel stronger and more capable, this is your next step. These sessions will go through how to swim a joyous heads-down-front-crawl. Yes, you can!

Sea Swim Club 5 Week Course – Thursday morning – A small group, together we’ll learn the basics of heads down front crawl. June will be slightly warmer, great if you’re a pool swimmer but are keen to do more open water. 5 x Thursdays starting 11 June – 9 July, 10-11am.

For Everyone!

One to One sessions. These are available all year. My 1:1 coaching sessions are tailored completely to you. Whether you’re feeling nervous, transitioning from the pool, or wanting to improve your stroke, we’ll work at your pace and focus on what you need most.

Walk, Talk, Dip

Walk, Talk, Dip is a slower way. Give yourself some space and some grace when life or work feels a bit challenging or stuck. We walk the seafront, talk things through, and take a dip if and when it feels right. As a qualified coach and mentor (not just for swimming), I hold a supportive space for whatever you’re bringing. Being in and by the sea has a way of shifting perspective, helping you feel calmer, clearer, and a little more able to move forward.

  • Headspace and clarity
  • Gentle dipping
  • A reset for when you feel stuck

This is a slower, more reflective experience. A chance to think, talk, and reconnect, with the sea as part of that process.

Not Sure Where You Fit?

That’s completely fine, we are all different are we not! Just get in touch and we can figure out the right next step together.
