There’s a type of person I meet often in my coaching and swim sessions. I call them The Curious and they are the seekers of this world.
I’m one.
The Curious are the ones who always want to know more. They’re drawn to new ideas, fresh projects, and different ways of living or working. They ask themselves:
- What else could I be doing?
- What do I want?
- What would happen if I tried this?
- Is there another way to live, work, or create that feels more “me”?
Sometimes they’re mid-career, sometimes just starting out, but the thread is the same: they’re looking for possibility, not a rigid plan.
When I spend time with these curious folk, or take them into the sea, something shifts. The power, the change, the freedom of being outdoors, it gives their questions space to breathe. Ideas surface more easily, not forced. They see that answers don’t have to come all at once; they come from experimenting, playing, and noticing what lights you up.
Follow the questions, not the map
In a goal orientated world…
For The Curious, the goal isn’t to settle everything forever. It’s to stay open, to keep moving, to trust that the next step will show itself.
If you recognise yourself in this, here’s my invitation: come walk, talk, dip. Bring your questions. Let curiosity lead you somewhere new.
Curiosity isn’t confusion.
It’s a compass.
Just so you know, you don’t have to have it all figured out. None of us do.
