Sea Swim Club – for first time sea swimmers

… if you’d love to give sea swimming a go, but you’re a little scared.

I was recently in the right place at the right time and met up with two mildly terrified ladies who arrived at my beach for a swim. They’d been hankering for a sea swim (they were local) but wanted some support to make it happen.

They could swim, but were very unsure how to go about sea swimming and didn’t want to either get in a pickle, or feel ridiculous. They were worried about not being able to do it.

Hence this new session, for first-time sea swimmers who need a little support to make it happen.

We’ll meet from 10-11am and I’ll talk to you about cold water swimming, sea conditions, safety and technique then we’ll have a swim together – time in the water depends on you and conditions.

There will only be 4 places per session and you’ll need to be able to swim at least 100m unaided to come along. The first session is Saturday 21 May 2022.

If it’s popular I’ll set up other sessions, or if you’d have a specific time you’d like, do let me know.

We’ll be swimming at Coryton, in Dawlish.
